MEMORY LANE.

We went for a little hike the other day - up the hillside of a small town just outside of Split,  by the name of Podstrana.  Having roots here, this is an ever special place for Bubola, with childhood memories and experiences at each turn.

Manoeuvring in and around olive, peach and lemon trees following a small windy path right up the hill while soaking in the warmth of the Dalmatian sunshine led us to HERE.  A clearing barely visible past some century-old-trees and behind some old stone houses long left for more urbanized homes closer to the main roads.  A dirt soccer field marked only by the two goalposts on either end...with the most magnificent view of all of Split.  This is where Bubola use to climb to as a boy with buddies from the neighbourhood and play endless games of football (aka soccer!), leaving for home only at the point of pure exhaustion and hunger (as most little boys' games end).

Here's a few highlights...

It's little treasures like these....forgotten fields and unmarked paths....that lead you to the most majestic of history untold here in Dalmatia.
