Croatia - Top 5 Cities

If you have been thinking or planning your trip to Croatia this summer, probably you should know which cities you want to visit.

  • Looking for fun - party or want to meet a lot of international people?
  • Looking for some quiet place, with good restaurants and beaches?
  • Looking to discover culture, history?

  1. Dubrovnik
  2. Split
  3. Island of Hvar- city of Hvar
  4. Island of Pag, Novalja
  5. Zadar

Dubrovnik - small city located southeast in Croatian coast, close to border with Montenegro. However, it's not recommended to visit Dubrovnik by car, because there are not many parking spots, especially in summer time. As Dubrovnik is historical city, with a lot of amazing restaurants, beaches and rich history, it's more of a quiet place. Young couples, families with children, people in retirement will for sure enjoy in delicious food, Crystal Clear Water, beaches and warm weather with a lot of sun.

Split - the city where I am from.
Split is located in the heart of Dalmatia.Every year Split is becoming more and more popular for all ages. Split is offering  great beaches, amazing history as Diocletian palace, great restaurants with delicious food and a lot of events for young people. Every year in summer from Split is starting popular "Yacht Sailing Week"!
Definitely if you are in Dalmatia, You don't want miss this such a beautiful city.

Split Croatia

Hvar - located on the Island of Hvar. Hvar is known as the city with the most sunny days a in year.
In summer time, this city lives 24h per day. The other name for Hvar is "Croatian Ibiza" and it's not hard to get there, only hour and a half with car ferry from Split. Parties are one thing that are never missing in Hvar.  Hvar also will provide you great food, beaches, clean water and a lot of fun.

City of Hvar - Croatia

Novalja - located on the Island of Pag. Just a few minutes driving from city of Novalja is located popular party destination, called Zrce. Cheaper than the island of Hvar with amazing events, DJ-s, restaurants, disco bars. Perfect for young people.

Zadar only 150 km far from Split. Greeting to the Sun at Zadar promenade is one of those thing what you must see. Zadar has great connection with highway, and it's in the middle of the Adriatic coast.

HIKES & LAKES & WEEKEND DAYS

We spent an amazing day doing a 6 hour hike at a nearby lake, Buntzen Lake, in Coquitlam - British Columbia!
It was a warm day with the clouds slowly lifting, perfect for our 5hr walk through the forest around the Lake. Canada is known for its wilderness, the endless forests, glaciers, bike paths, mountain tops and lakes.  When visiting Vancouver, or any other Canadian city, you only see a tiny glimpse into Canada.  The real story is on the unpaved roads, the steep trails, the giant lakes - if you want to see real Canada, you have to explore its wilderness, encounter wildlife and spend time outside the populated areas.
One thing is for sure, Canada's nature is so vast, so beautiful and so impressive, as you enjoy your moments exploring it you also start to feel a certain respect for the wild, because you just  never know what to expect...

SPLIT - SUSTIPAN

A great place to visit, offering panoramic views from 3 entire sides - is the park 'Sustipan' in Split.

Only a 15min walk from the center of Split, it is kept in perfect condition and towers above the most prestigious marina in Split - ACI Marina.  A great place for a relaxing walk, getting great photos of Split's promenade & city, and unobstructed views of the Adriatic Sea with two islands less often seen when in Split - Ciovo and Solta!

LONG WEEKENDS - Victoria Day

Ahh...long weekends...you can almost hear the beer cap click off and the BBQ start to sizzle...

We had the pleasure of venturing up with some friends to their house in the small town of Princeton.  Only 300kms from Vancouver, it was a quick trip to a whole.other.world.

The house sits on the top of a huge ranch property, overlooking the Princeton valley and the Similkameen river.  Rolling hills, hopping deer, grazing cows and beautiful horses roaming the property. Jetting around on a Rhino (an open quad) on gravel roads and taking in sunsets from the ridge.  BBQing and sunning on the gorgeous deck with the waterfall trickling into the pond.

A perfect long weekend of adventure, relaxation, laughs & Rhino rides - thank you to our friends Po&D for the city escape!

A perfect stop if you're venturing to the Okanagan on the #3 Highway from Vancouver, offering camping, hiking, horseback riding, ATVing, swimming, tubing and any other outdoor activity you might wish to do!  With so much to offer the small & quaint town of Princeton is only a 3hr drive from Vancouver, 1hr to the lake city of Osoyoos and 3hrs to Okanagan's jewel town of Kelowna.

APRIL HUES.

Cultus Lake, BC

White Rock, BC

Another sunny spring weekend on our West Coast - the best coast!  Valley hikes, ice-cream sunsets and Playoff gatherings, 3 of our favourite spring weekend activities!  In case you aren't an NHL follower and live elsewhere, or are North American and choose to live under a rock (!) the Canucks have been busy getting their butts whooped by the Kings the past few days, and we've got our fingers crossed tonight's a different story.

Happy Sunday eve!

xo

PS. We had company as we caught the sunset the other night! Check him out! :)

Looks like we're not the only ones enjoying the sunset!
