I have been terrible at posting to the blog these past few days....well the month of Jan actually. It has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride this 2012 year so far, but an adrenaline-pumping, energy draining, exciting sort of ride! I checked the date today and couldn't believe it's the 25th already!! A bitter-sweet realization - only 2 weeks left in this gorgeous town of Split. We're getting excited to head back to beautiful Vancity but are also appreciating the little things around here, knowing we will dearly miss them back on the West Coast.
Along with all the happenings of our January life in 2012, I haven't had much inspiration to write on this, our dear little blog. Refocusing my energies and getting back on track I hereby swear to you, dear readers, to share the magic and pizzazz of Spalato (as the Italians say) every.single.day until we jet-set for Germany.
I'm starting today with photos of our night out yesterday at the "Hrvastko Narodno Kazaliste", or National Croatian Theater for you english-speakers! A fantastic eve at Shakespeare's classic Romeo i Julija with an inspiring cast and modern-twist. The highlight though? The intricate and historical beauty of this magnificent building; a place the local Dalmatians walk by daily (set right off Marmontova, the famous shopping street in the old city) and don't even blink an eye; a place where I (a part-time local, full-time tourist) stop to marvel each time I pass this gorgeous theater. Last night I got a first-hand look at it's interior.
Inspirational...isn't it?
