HIKES & LAKES & WEEKEND DAYS

We spent an amazing day doing a 6 hour hike at a nearby lake, Buntzen Lake, in Coquitlam - British Columbia!
It was a warm day with the clouds slowly lifting, perfect for our 5hr walk through the forest around the Lake. Canada is known for its wilderness, the endless forests, glaciers, bike paths, mountain tops and lakes.  When visiting Vancouver, or any other Canadian city, you only see a tiny glimpse into Canada.  The real story is on the unpaved roads, the steep trails, the giant lakes - if you want to see real Canada, you have to explore its wilderness, encounter wildlife and spend time outside the populated areas.
One thing is for sure, Canada's nature is so vast, so beautiful and so impressive, as you enjoy your moments exploring it you also start to feel a certain respect for the wild, because you just  never know what to expect...

And here are some instructions on what to do if you meet a cougar (wild cat)! :)
